About Me
Hi, I'm Joel. I am a software engineer and builder based in Sydney, Australia. With over a decade of hands-on experience across full-stack development, mobile applications, cloud architecture, and systems engineering, I enjoy building reliable software that solves real problems.
I take end-to-end ownership of solutions, from architecture and UI/UX design through to scalable backend services and deployment pipelines. Technology has always been a genuine passion of mine, whether that is developing cross-platform apps, building custom integrations, or exploring new developer tools.
Outside of Work
When I'm not writing code, you will usually find me:
- Running my self-hosted homelab, experimenting with local AI models, and optimizing home automation systems
- Under dark skies doing deep-sky astrophotography (and sharing shots on Unsplash)
- Designing functional 3D prints, electronics, and rapid physical prototypes
- Playing drums in live bands and directing music
